There are people in this world who have experiences that defy explanation. These experiences point to a world beyond the five-senses, to a world beyond our current understanding, and in some cases even to a reality beyond our wildest imaginations. These experiences give us a glimpse into the possibility that we are living in a multidimensional multiverse – a dynamic participatory landscape where consciousness and physical reality are highly interpenetrated.

These people often have had multiple noetic and anomalous experiences throughout their life. We call these unique people super experiencers. These are people who have five or more distinct types of noetic and anomalous experiences such as an out-of-body experience (OBEs), near-death experience (NDEs), various paranormal and psychic experiences, encounters with non-human intelligences or supernatural beings, UAP encounters, transpersonal dreams, and mystical experiences. Super experiencers are normal individuals who have extraordinary experiences.

These super experiencers are important reminders to us that the world is more mysterious and amazing than we often acknowledge in our busy work filled lives. We feel these super experiencers hold an important key for all of humanity to unlock a deeper, wider, and more integral understanding of the relationship between consciousness and the cosmos. We need to listen more closely to these super experiencers. We want to tap into their unique wisdom and experiences to help us better understand the multidimensional nature of reality. We suspect that they are more common than people realize. In fact, it appears that we all have the potential to be super experiencers.

Thus, our interaction with super experiencers and their stories from around the world have inspired the creation of this global research project – tentatively titled the Worldwide Initiative for Super Experiencer Research (WISER). This multi-year project will launch in late 2024 with:

  • a global survey of 5000+ super experiences (Phase 1)
  • followed by psychometric assessments and in-depth interviews of 100+ super experiences (Phase 2)
  • followed by biological and genetic testing, brain imaging and subtle energy analysis of 50+ super experiencers (Phase 3).

Our research is designed by super experiencers for super experiencers. We want participants in this research to feel supported in making sense of their unique set of experiences.

This research is being conducted through a collaboration between the California Institute for Human Science and the Exo Studies Institute, and in partnership with the John E. Mack Institute. We have assembled an international advisory board of over 20 experts in a wide range of noetic and anomalous experiences. We will be launching our website in the coming months. To stay informed with our activities and how you can participate and support our efforts please join our mailing list. Whether you have a general interest in what we are doing, are an experiencer, or a researcher – join our list so we can stay in touch.

Initial Super Experience Survey

If you want to find out if you are a super experiencer – you can take our quick 10-minute initial survey below which we are using to get a better sense of the range and intensity of experiences that super experiencers have. By filling out this quick survey you will be helping us finalize the structure of our Global Survey. If you qualify as a super experiencer you will be asked to take the full survey when it is launched later this year.
