6-Week What’s Up with UFOs? Discussion Course

Join Sean Esbjörn-Hargens the co-founder of the website What’s Up with UFOs? in this exciting 6-week exploration and in-depth discussion of all the material on this site and its implications for the 21st century. Tom Curren the other co-founder will join us as a special guest on the last week of the course.

Sean and Tom have spent years researching every aspect of the UFO phenomena. In the spring of 2019, they began the process of curating a set of 150 videos and articles that succulently represent the most interesting and important perspectives on the enigmatic and controversial subject of UFOs. This material has been organized into 4 primary domains (Flying Objects, Hard Science, Direct Experience, and Institutional Dynamics). Each of these four domains has between 25 and 40 assets and takes between 4 and 8 hours to read/watch it all. We know that 20+ hours of material seems daunting! That is why we are offering a 6-week paced approach to engage, discuss, and digest this material.

We believe that this site showcases the most comprehensive “metaview” of the UFO topic in all of its intriguing aspects. As a result, it empowers you to answer one of the most important questions of the 21st century: What’s up with UFOs?

This is why we are offering this deep dive Discussion Course so that you can join Sean and others to engage, discussion, debate, and explore all of this material and its implications – and answer this BIG question for yourself! We will be exploring all the content on this site within the integrative metadisciplinary context of exo studies, which Sean has been pioneering for the last two years. We feel that the UFO topic is too complex and multifaceted for anything less than this BIG approach.

The first week will set the stage and provide a general overview of the content on the site and situate it within the contemporary moment of UFOs becoming a hot topic in mainstream circles.

Then the next four weeks will focus on the content associated with one of the four domains (see schedule below) on the site so we can collectively work through the material on the site and begin to connect the dots across the domains.

The final week will provide an opportunity to reflect back on everything we’ve covered and sense into the emergent future and answer the question individually and collectively – What’s up with UFOs?

INSTITUTE of EXO STUDIES (IES)

The Institute of Exo Studies (IES) is dedicated to a vision of humans as a peaceful multi-planet species. To accomplish this vision IES cultivates galactic awareness in humanity through three primary activities:

1.) the individual development of multi-dimensional awareness

2.) exploring the role of galactic diplomacy in an expanded definition of humanity, and

3.) developing an integrative post-disciplinary metascience capable of making sense of the wide range of evidence we have of UFOs, their occupants, and related phenomena.

Current activities of IES include online courses and in-person seminars as well as several book publishing projects which present key topics in exo studies.

The Metafield of Study

EXO STUDIES

EXO STUDIES

Exo studies is an emerging integrative metafield committed to exploring the psychological, sociological, and scientific implications of living in a multidimensional multiverse. This includes the first-person accounts of people having contact with or experiencing non-human intelligences. It also includes the exploration of the cultural meaning-making  dynamics that make this topic taboo and considers what can foster a more galactic-centric humanity. And it explores the role that the new exo-sciences and cutting edge physics have to offer our understanding of reality. So while exo studies includes what has historically fallen within UFO/ET context it goes beyond this by taking a metaview of the dynamic interplay between mind-meaning-matter often drawing on source material that traditionally hasn’t been connected to the study of UFOs/ETs.

6-week Course Schedule

On the Friday before each week Sean will post a 15-20 min video giving an overview and framing up the week’s discussion. This way people will have 3 days to watch before the Live Discussion calls start on Tuesday.

Every week Sean will host two 1-hr Zoom calls: Tuesdays @ 10 am PST and Thursdays @ 5 pm PST

Calls will be recorded and posted for everyone in the course to access. So that even if your work schedule or time zone doesn’t allow you to attend one or both of the calls live you can still watch all the calls.

There will also be a Slack discussion space for threaded discussions throughout each week.

Here is the 6-week course schedule:
